About the project

Our Erasmus+ project “European Mathematicians” will be carried out under the coordination of School Complex no:2 of Krzysztof Kamil Baczynski in Elk from Poland, in partnership with 1st Lyceum of Rhodes from Greece and Burdur Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School from Turkey, with the active participation of Mathematics teachers or teachers trained in Mathematics and English teachers between 01.04.2024 – 31.01.2025.

The main purpose of the project is to increase the pedagogical competencies of Mathematics teachers in the participating schools; to ensure that they are informed about innovative teaching tools and supporting programs used, to familiarize them with different ways of solving mathematical problems and thus to make teaching and learning mathematics attractive. In addition to this; By taking into account the differences in the mathematics curriculum followed and implemented in the participating countries, it is aimed to raise awareness of students and teachers about the questions that can be asked in international exams held abroad.

Thanks to the activities that will be held during and after the project (Mathematics tournaments, online English lessons, teaching materials exchange), students’ attitudes towards Mathematics will change positively, and teachers will have the opportunity to work with their foreign colleagues.

A website will be established, which will include the achievements and joint work achieved throughout the project, and will be accessible in four languages (English, Polish, Turkish and Greek).

As Burdur Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, we will share our competence in preparing and implementing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and interdisciplinary lesson plans, which we have acquired from previous Erasmus+ projects, with other participating schools and thus ensure that they are aware of this innovative approach.
